BULGARIAN FILM ACADEMY 2017
representing from 2010 the whole film community on the ground of the Agreement signed by the Union of Bulgarian Film Makers, the Bulgarian Association of Film Directors, the Association of Bulgarian Film Cameramen, the Association of Film and TV Directors, the Bulgarian Association of Film, TV and Radio Scriptwriters, the Bulgarian Association of the Independent Cartoon Animation Artists, the Association of Bulgarian Film Producers, the Association of Bulgarian Independent Producers, the Association "Akademika 21" announced at the official ceremony at Theatre "Bulgarian Army' on 26th June 2017 and presented by Bulgarian National TV. The Bulgarian Film Academy annually awards the most prestigious prizes for film art achievments, these prizes continue the cultural tradition established in 1975 by the Union of Bulgarian Film Makers.
In the competition this year took part: 9 feature films, 22 documentaries, 10 short films and 12 animation films.
